1. Introduction
The Most Worshipful Grand Lodge of Free and Accepted Masons of the Philippines ("Grand Lodge," "we," "us," or "our") respects your right to privacy and is committed to protecting your personal information. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, process, store, disclose, and protect your personal information when you use the Grand Lodge of the Philippines Official Mobile Application (the "App"), including any services and features made available through the App.
The Grand Lodge processes personal information in accordance with the Data Privacy Act of 2012 (Republic Act No. 10173), its Implementing Rules and Regulations, and the applicable issuances of the National Privacy Commission ("NPC"). We are committed to processing personal information in a lawful, fair, transparent, and secure manner, consistent with the principles of transparency, legitimate purpose, and proportionality. By downloading, accessing, registering for, or using the App, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Privacy Policy and consent to the collection, use, and processing of your personal information as described herein, where consent is the appropriate legal basis for processing. Where processing is based on another lawful ground recognized under the Data Privacy Act, such processing shall be undertaken in accordance with applicable law.
If you do not agree with this Privacy Policy, you should discontinue the use of the App.
2. Who This App Is For
The App is the official mobile application of the Most Worshipful Grand Lodge of Free and Accepted Masons of the Philippines and is intended solely for:
● Master Masons in good standing who are members of Constituent Lodges under the Grand Jurisdiction of the Grand Lodge;
● Grand Lodge officers, district officers, and duly authorized personnel;
● Officers and members of constituent lodges;
● Applicants, petitioners, or prospective members who have been expressly authorized by the Grand Lodge to access designated features of the App; and
● Other individuals who have been granted access by the Grand Lodge for legitimate organizational purposes.
Certain features of the App are available only to authenticated users whose membership or eligibility has been verified through the Grand Lodge's official membership records. The App is not intended for use by the general public and is designed exclusively to support the administrative, educational, informational, and communication functions of the Grand Lodge and its constituent lodges.
Children's Privacy
The App is not directed to children or individuals below eighteen (18) years of age. We do not knowingly collect or process personal information from minors through the App. If we become aware that personal information has been collected from a person below eighteen (18) years of age 1 without lawful authority or the consent required under applicable law, we will take appropriate steps to delete or otherwise dispose of such information in accordance with the Data Privacy Act of 2012 and applicable regulations. If you believe that a minor has provided personal information through the App, please contact us using the contact details provided in this Privacy Policy so that appropriate action may be taken.
3. Information We Collect
We collect only the personal information that is necessary to provide the App, verify membership, maintain account security, and support the legitimate administrative and operational functions of the Grand Lodge. The personal information we collect depends on how you use the App and the features you access.
3.1 Information You Provide to Us When you register for an account, we collect the following information:
● Username;
● First name;
● Middle name (optional);
● Last name;
● Email address;
● Mobile number;
● Grand Lodge Member ID or GLP ID (as reflected in your dues card or official membership records);
● Present Masonic position or office, where applicable; and
● Mother or Parent Lodge, selected from the official directory of constituent lodges.
Except for the middle name, the foregoing information is required to create and verify your account.
To verify your identity and eligibility to access member-only features, the information you provide is matched against the Grand Lodge's official membership records and related membership management systems. Your password is never stored in plain text. It is securely processed and stored using industry-standard cryptographic hashing methods. Where you subsequently update your profile, the information you provide may likewise be collected and maintained to keep your membership records current.
When you use member features within the App, we may also collect:
● updated profile information;
● membership status;
● lodge affiliation;
● Masonic offices or positions held;
● event registrations and RSVPs;
● responses to official notices, surveys, or announcements made available through the App; and
● other information that you voluntarily submit through App features.
3.2 Information Generated Through Your Use of the App When you use the App, certain technical information is automatically generated to enable the App to function securely and efficiently. This information includes:
Authentication Credentials
After successful login, the App stores a secure authentication token on your device to maintain your authenticated session. This token is securely stored using the operating system's protected storage facilities (such as the iOS Keychain or Android EncryptedSharedPreferences) and is not accessible to other applications.
Locally Cached Content
To improve performance and permit limited offline viewing, certain publicly available content—such as lodge directories, circulars, edicts, official issuances, officers, news, and similar resources—may be temporarily stored in encrypted form on your device. Such cached information is automatically removed upon logout or deletion of your account.
In-App Notifications
The App records notifications delivered through its in-app notification system, including whether such notifications have been viewed, marked as read, archived, or deleted.
Technical and Security Logs
To maintain the security, integrity, and availability of the App, we may generate limited technical logs relating to authentication events, application errors, security incidents, system performance, and similar operational activities. These logs are used solely for security, troubleshooting, auditing, and system administration purposes.
3.3 Information We Do Not Collect
The Grand Lodge is committed to collecting only the personal information that is necessary for the operation of the App. Accordingly, the App does not collect or process the following information:
● your real-time or background geographic location;
● your device's contacts or address book;
● photographs, videos, or files stored on your device;
● camera access;
● microphone or audio recordings;
● health or fitness information;
● payment card or financial account information;
● advertising identifiers for behavioral advertising;
● biometric information, including fingerprint or facial recognition data; or
● browsing activity across other mobile applications or websites.
The App likewise does not incorporate third-party advertising software development kits (SDKs), behavioral advertising services, or analytics platforms that profile users for advertising purposes. If you choose to enable the optional biometric application lock available on supported devices, your device's operating system performs the biometric authentication entirely on the device. The Grand Lodge does not collect, receive, access, process, or store any biometric information associated with that authentication process. Similarly, the current version of the App does not send push notifications through Apple Push Notification Service (APNs), Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM), or similar notification platforms. Notifications are delivered solely through the App's internal notification system.
4. How We Use Your Information
We process your personal information only for lawful, specific, and legitimate purposes that are compatible with the functions of the Grand Lodge and the operation of the App. We collect and use only the personal information that is necessary and proportionate to achieve these purposes. Specifically, we use your personal information to:
● create, verify, administer, and maintain your user account;
● verify your identity, membership status, eligibility, and authority to access member-only features and services;
● authenticate users and maintain secure login sessions;
● provide access to official Grand Lodge services, directories, communications, notices, circulars, edicts, events, and other resources available through the App;
● manage event registrations, attendance confirmations, and RSVPs;
● maintain and update your member profile and other information associated with your account;
● respond to inquiries, requests, feedback, and technical support concerns;
●communicate important administrative announcements, organizational updates, and security-related notices concerning your account or the App;
● monitor, maintain, troubleshoot, and improve the performance, reliability, and security of the App;
● detect, investigate, prevent, and respond to unauthorized access, fraud, misuse, security incidents, or other activities that may compromise the integrity of the App or the Grand Lodge's information systems;
● perform internal reporting, auditing, record management, and administrative functions necessary for the efficient operation of the Grand Lodge;
● comply with applicable laws, regulations, lawful governmental requests, court orders, or other legal obligations; and
● protect the rights, property, safety, and legitimate interests of the Grand Lodge, its officers, constituent lodges, members, employees, service providers, and other authorized users.
We will not use your personal information for purposes that are incompatible with those described in this Privacy Policy unless such processing is authorized or required by law or you have otherwise provided your consent where consent is required under applicable law. Where practicable, we implement reasonable measures to ensure that personal information used for decision-making, account administration, and membership verification is accurate, complete, relevant, and kept up to date.
The Grand Lodge does not sell, rent, or otherwise commercialize your personal information, nor does it use your personal information for behavioral advertising, marketing profiling, or any similar commercial purpose.
5. Legal Bases for Processing
The Grand Lodge processes personal information only where permitted under the Data Privacy Act of 2012 (Republic Act No. 10173), its Implementing Rules and Regulations, and other applicable laws and regulations. Depending on the nature and purpose of the processing activity, we rely on one or more of the following legal bases:
5.1 Consent
We process personal information where you have freely given your consent for a specific purpose, and such consent is required under applicable law. You may withdraw your consent at any time, subject to legal or contractual restrictions and provided that such withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of processing undertaken before the withdrawal of consent.
5.2 Performance of a Contract or Organizational Relationship
We process personal information where it is necessary to establish, administer, or fulfill our relationship with you as a registered user, member, officer, applicant, or other authorized user of the App. This includes processing necessary to create and manage your account, verify your membership, provide access to App features, administer official Grand Lodge services, and perform obligations arising from your use of the App.
5.3 Compliance with Legal Obligations
We may process personal information where such processing is necessary to comply with applicable laws, regulations, lawful orders of courts or government agencies, or other legal obligations imposed upon the Grand Lodge.
5.4 Legitimate Interests
We may process personal information where such processing is necessary to pursue the legitimate interests of the Grand Lodge, provided that such interests are not overridden by your fundamental rights and freedoms under the Data Privacy Act. These legitimate interests include, among others:
● maintaining the security, integrity, and reliability of the App and related information systems;
● preventing fraud, unauthorized access, misuse, and other security incidents;
● conducting system maintenance, auditing, troubleshooting, and performance monitoring;
● protecting the rights, property, reputation, and legitimate interests of the Grand Lodge, its officers, constituent lodges, members, employees, service providers, and other authorized users; and
● improving the functionality, security, and user experience of the App.
Where the law requires a different legal basis for a particular processing activity, the Grand Lodge shall process personal information only in accordance with such applicable legal basis.
6. How We Share Your Information
The Grand Lodge respects the confidentiality of your personal information. We do not sell, rent, trade, or otherwise disclose your personal information for commercial or marketing purposes. We disclose personal information only when such disclosure is necessary, lawful, and proportionate to achieve the purposes described in this Privacy Policy or as otherwise permitted or required by law. Your personal information may be shared only in the following circumstances:
6.1 Within the Grand Lodge
We may disclose personal information to authorized Grand Lodge officers, employees, committees, constituent lodge officers, district officers, and other duly authorized representatives who require access to such information in the performance of their official duties and for legitimate Masonic, administrative, or operational purposes. Access to personal information is granted strictly on a need-to-know basis and is subject to appropriate confidentiality and security measures.
6.2 Service Providers and Data Processors The Grand Lodge may engage third-party service providers to perform services on its behalf, including but not limited to:
● cloud hosting and data storage;
● information technology infrastructure;
● application maintenance and technical support;
● cybersecurity and system monitoring;
● email and communication services; and
● other information technology services necessary for the operation of the App.
These service providers act as Personal Information Processors (PIPs) under the Data Privacy Act and are contractually required to:
● process personal information only upon the documented instructions of the Grand Lodge;
● implement appropriate organizational, physical, and technical security measures;
● maintain the confidentiality of all personal information entrusted to them; and
● comply with the Data Privacy Act of 2012 and other applicable privacy laws.
6.3 Membership Verification Information that you submit during registration or account management may be compared with or validated against the Grand Lodge's official membership records and related membership management systems for the purpose of verifying your identity, membership status, eligibility, and authority to access member-only features of the App.
6.4 Legal and Regulatory Requirements We may disclose personal information where such disclosure is required or authorized by law, including when necessary to:
● comply with legal obligations;
● respond to lawful orders, subpoenas, warrants, or other compulsory legal processes;
● cooperate with government authorities or regulatory agencies acting within their lawful authority;
● protect the rights, property, or safety of the Grand Lodge, its officers, members, employees, or the public; or
● investigate suspected fraud, security incidents, violations of law, or unauthorized use of the App.
6.5 Corporate or Organizational Changes
Should the Grand Lodge undergo any lawful reorganization, merger, consolidation, transfer of operations, or similar organizational restructuring affecting the operation of the App, personal information may be transferred to the successor or responsible entity, subject to applicable laws and the continued protection of your personal information.
6.6 No Sale of Personal Information
The Grand Lodge does not sell or otherwise monetize your personal information. Likewise, we do not disclose your personal information to third parties for behavioral advertising, direct marketing, profiling, or any other commercial purpose unrelated to the legitimate functions of the Grand Lodge.
6.7 Data Sharing Safeguards
Whenever personal information is shared with authorized recipients or service providers, the Grand Lodge implements appropriate contractual, organizational, and technical safeguards designed to ensure that personal information remains protected against unauthorized access, use, disclosure, alteration, or destruction. All recipients of personal information are expected to observe confidentiality obligations and to process personal information only for the purposes for which it was disclosed and in accordance with applicable law.
7. Third-Party Services
To provide certain features and functionality, the App may interact with carefully selected third-party services. These third parties process only the information necessary to provide their respective services and are governed by their own privacy policies and terms of use. The Grand Lodge exercises reasonable diligence in selecting service providers and seeks to ensure that they implement appropriate safeguards for the protection of personal information.
7.1 Map Services
The App displays map previews and location information for Grand Lodge facilities, constituent lodges, events, and other official locations through OpenStreetMap. When a map preview is loaded, your device communicates directly with the OpenStreetMap servers to retrieve the map tiles required to display the requested location. As a result, OpenStreetMap may receive certain technical information, including:
● your device's Internet Protocol (IP) address;
● the map coordinates or geographic area requested; and
● standard technical information necessary to deliver the requested map content.
The processing of such information is governed by the privacy policy of the OpenStreetMap Foundation and is not controlled by the Grand Lodge.
7.2 External Map Applications
If you choose to open a location using your device's default mapping application (such as Apple Maps, Google Maps, or another installed mapping service), the selected location information will be transmitted directly to that application. Your use of any external mapping application is governed solely by the privacy policy and terms of service of the respective provider.
7.3 External Websites and Resources
The App may contain links to external websites or online resources, including official government websites, constituent lodge websites, educational materials, event registration pages, and other third-party resources. Once you leave the App, your interactions with those websites are governed by the privacy policies and terms of the respective website operators. The Grand Lodge does not own, control, or assume responsibility for the privacy practices, security, accuracy, availability, or content of third-party websites. Users are encouraged to review the privacy policies of any third-party websites before providing personal information.
7.4 No Third-Party Advertising or Behavioral Analytics The current version of the App does not include:
● third-party advertising networks;
● advertising software development kits (SDKs);
● behavioral advertising technologies;
● user profiling services for marketing purposes;
● cross-application or cross-website tracking technologies; or
● third-party analytics platforms used to create advertising or marketing profiles.
Accordingly, the Grand Lodge does not permit third parties to collect your personal information through the App for advertising, remarketing, or similar commercial purposes.
7.5 Future Third-Party Integrations
Should future versions of the App integrate additional third-party services that involve the processing of personal information, the Grand Lodge will evaluate such services for compliance with applicable privacy laws and, where required, update this Privacy Policy before or at the time such services become available. Where required by law, appropriate notice and consent will also be obtained before such processing is undertaken.
8. How We Store and Protect Your Information
The Grand Lodge implements appropriate organizational, physical, and technical security measures designed to protect personal information against accidental or unlawful destruction, alteration, unauthorized disclosure, unauthorized access, misuse, or any other unlawful processing, in accordance with the Data Privacy Act of 2012 and applicable regulations of the National Privacy Commission. While no method of electronic transmission or storage is completely secure, we continually review and enhance our security practices to reduce risks and protect the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of personal information.
8.1 Technical Security Measures
To safeguard personal information processed through the App, we employ appropriate technical controls, including:
● encryption of data transmitted between the App and our servers using industry-standard Transport Layer Security (TLS);
● certificate pinning, where implemented, to help prevent unauthorized interception of communications;
● secure storage of authentication credentials using the security mechanisms provided by the operating system, including the iOS Keychain and Android EncryptedSharedPreferences or their equivalent secure storage facilities;
● encryption of locally cached application data using strong encryption standards;
● secure authentication and session management mechanisms designed to prevent unauthorized access;
● application logging and security monitoring for the detection, investigation, and response to security incidents; and
● regular application updates and security improvements intended to address identified vulnerabilities.
8.2 Organizational Security Measures The Grand Lodge maintains policies, procedures, and administrative safeguards intended to ensure that personal information is processed only by authorized persons and only for legitimate purposes. These measures include, where appropriate:
● restricting access to personal information on a need-to-know basis;
● assigning appropriate access privileges according to official duties and responsibilities;
● requiring officers, employees, contractors, and service providers who have access to personal information to observe confidentiality obligations;
● implementing internal procedures governing the handling, storage, and disposal of personal information; and
● periodically reviewing access rights and security practices.
8.3 Physical Security Measures
Where personal information is stored or processed within facilities under the control of the Grand Lodge or its authorized service providers, reasonable physical safeguards are maintained to protect information systems and storage media against unauthorized access, theft, damage, or loss.
8.4 Biometric Application Lock
On supported devices, users may choose to enable the optional biometric application lock using features such as Face ID, Touch ID, or the device's biometric authentication system. Biometric authentication is performed exclusively by your device's operating system. The Grand Lodge does not collect, receive, process, store, or otherwise have access to your biometric information.
8.5 User Responsibilities
You also play an important role in protecting your personal information. You are responsible for:
● maintaining the confidentiality of your username, password, and authentication credentials;
● preventing unauthorized access to your mobile device;
● promptly notifying the Grand Lodge if you believe your account has been compromised or accessed without authorization; and
● logging out of the App when using a shared or public device.
8.6 Security Incidents and Personal Data Breaches
In the event of a personal data breach, the Grand Lodge will promptly assess the nature and extent of the incident and take appropriate measures to contain, investigate, mitigate, and remediate its effects. Where required under the Data Privacy Act of 2012, its Implementing Rules and Regulations, and applicable issuances of the National Privacy Commission, the Grand Lodge will notify the National Privacy Commission and affected data subjects within the periods prescribed by law. Despite the safeguards implemented by the Grand Lodge, no information system, mobile application, or method of electronic transmission can be guaranteed to be completely secure. Accordingly, while we strive to protect your personal information using reasonable and appropriate safeguards, we cannot guarantee absolute security.
9. Data Retention
The Grand Lodge retains personal information only for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes for which it was collected, to provide and maintain the App, to comply with applicable legal and regulatory requirements, and to protect the legitimate interests of the Grand Lodge and its members. The retention period applicable to personal information may vary depending on the nature of the information, the purpose for which it was collected, applicable legal requirements, and operational or administrative needs.
9.1 Account Information
Personal information associated with your App account shall be retained for as long as your account remains active and you continue to be an authorized user of the App.

9.2 Membership Records
The App serves as a platform for accessing and managing information relating to your membership in the Grand Lodge. However, your official Masonic membership records are maintained independently by the Grand Lodge in accordance with its constitutional, administrative, and record-keeping requirements. Deletion of your App account does not automatically delete or alter your official membership records maintained by the Grand Lodge.
9.3 Account Deletion
You may request the deletion of your App account at any time through the account management features of the App or by contacting the Grand Lodge. Upon deletion of your account:
● your authentication credentials and active sessions will be invalidated;

● your profile information associated with the App will be removed or anonymized where appropriate; and
● personal information that the Grand Lodge is legally required or otherwise entitled to retain will continue to be maintained only for the period permitted or required by applicable law.
Account deletion is permanent and may be irreversible with respect to App-specific information. If you later wish to use the App again, you may be required to complete a new registration and membership verification process.

● maintain system security;
● investigate suspected fraud or unauthorized access;
● diagnose technical issues;
● comply with legal obligations; or
● support internal audit and information security functions.
Such records are retained only for as long as necessary to fulfill these purposes.
9.5 Disposal of Personal Information
When personal information is no longer required for the purposes for which it was collected and there is no legal or legitimate basis for its continued retention, the Grand Lodge shall securely delete, anonymize, destroy, or otherwise dispose of such information using reasonable measures designed to prevent unauthorized access, recovery, or reconstruction. The Grand Lodge periodically reviews its data retention practices to ensure that personal information is not retained longer than necessary and that disposal is carried out in accordance with applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies.
10. Your Rights
Subject to the provisions of the Data Privacy Act of 2012 (Republic Act No. 10173), its Implementing Rules and Regulations, and other applicable laws, you are entitled to exercise the rights of a data subject with respect to your personal information processed by the Grand Lodge.
